THE LIFE OF ELIZABETH NEWCOMEN
ARTHUR SMITH, RICK JONES AND JANE JONES
Monday 23 April
2.30pm at Southwark Cathedral,  London Bridge; free
Arthur Smith, Jane Jones and Rick Jones tell the story in
words and music of a Shakespearean feminist Mrs Elizabeth
Newcomen (1605-1675). An annual celebration of Shakespeare's
birthday in words and music. This year, Arthur, Rick and
Jane will focus on the life of a Shakespearean feminist -
Elizabeth Newcomen - who is buried in the Cathedral. A
Victorian tablet commemorates her in the north transept and
Newcomen Street off the Borough reminds us of her school and
benefaction.

THE BALLAD OF ST GEORGE AND THE DRAGON - OPEN-AIR PLAY

MUSEUM SINGERS: SCHUBERT AND ZELENKA
Wednesday 25 April
7.30pm at St George's Cathedral,  Lambeth Road; £10 from

The Museum Singers presents an intimate concert of
Schubert's 'Mass in G' and Zelenka's 'Miserere', alongside
music by Bach, Mozart and a new arrangement of Dominique Le
Gendre's 2015 work, 'Berwick Sound Estuary'. The choir will
be joined by a string and wind ensemble. The Museum Singers
is an independent chamber choir based at St George's
Cathedral. The choir was founded by staff of Imperial War
Museums.

DRAW AND TOUR:  AN ARCHITECTURE TOUR (INCLUDING WORKSHOP)

minute tour of five stops and a short colour sketching

SPRING PLANT FAIR

The Garden Museum's annual garden fair is the first of the
London season and brings together the best nurseries from
across Britain selling specialist plants and flowers in the
Museum. Whether you have a garden, balcony or allotment
there will be plants and garden ephemera to suit. Take the
opportunity to talk to the experts who are exhibiting, who
will be happy to share their advice and expertise. The fair
will take place in the Museum's Nave space and outside, in
the Christopher Bradley-Hole designed front garden.
