FREE LUNCHTIME RECITAL
Thursday 30 June
1pm at St George the Martyr,  Borough High Street
This Thursday's free lunchtime recital pm is a solo violin
recital by Dan Ching-Chun Chuang, who will be playing Bach's
Partita No.3 in E major and Ysaye's Sonata for solo violin
No 2 in A Minor The recital last approximately 45 minutes.
The audience is welcome to bring their lunch to eat during
the recital and free refreshments are served afterwards with
a chance to meet the performer.

WATERLOO FOOD FESTIVAL LAUNCH EVENT
Thursday 30 June
5pm-9pm  at Lower Marsh,  Lower Marsh; free
Learn about chocolate making, try maki rolling, make your
own home-made pesto or join the 'Vegetable Orchestra' as
they craft instruments from veg and then perform at this
year's launch event for the Waterloo Food Festival. Visitors
can also sample food and drink from many of the area's
favourite restaurants, cafes and food businesses as they set
up stalls along Lower Marsh for the evening. There will be
late-night openings from some of the businesses along the
street, and live music from bands including Latin Dimension.

THE NIGHT BEFORE THE SOMME: EVENING OF MUSIC, THEATRE, FILM
AND POETRY

On the eve of the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, a
free evening event including film screenings, live music,
immersive theatre and poetry exploring the themes of love,
fear, hope and courage.

LAMBETH PALACE GARDEN OPEN DAY

For the second year running, the Archbishop of Canterbury
has opened up SE1's largest private garden for visitors on a
regular monthly schedule from March to October. Tea, coffee
and soft drinks will be available to purchase, together with
plants from the garden, Lambeth Palace honey and souvenirs.

FEMINIST LIBRARY SUMMER BENEFIT
Saturday 2 July
2pm-10pm  at Feminist Library, 5 Westminster Bridge Road;

Join author Ali Smith, artists, musicians and performers at
fun immersive arts event raising funds for the Save the
Library campaign. The Feminist Library is raising money as
it tries to find new premises. Experience the Feminist
Library anew as artists, writers and musicians perform new
and old works in spaces, nooks and crannies of the library.
During this 8-hour immersive arts experience events will
include a choral installation, one-to-one performances in a
lift, and the spectacular launch of the Feminist Library
Survival Song. Award winning novelist Ali Smith will
headline the event, appearing to talk about her new book
�Public Library and Other Stories�, itself a passionate
defence of the importance of libraries and literature. All
this plus feminist stalls, signed copies of books, zines,
food, drink, dancing, and the Feminist Library photo booth
performance.
