LECTURE: THE SURREY DOCKS FARM HISTORY PROJECT

A Southwark & Lambeth Archaeological Society event. Talk by
Germander Speedwell. The history of the site, including a
dockyard, a timber yard and South Wharf, a transfer station
run by the Metropolitan Asylums Board.

FREE LUNCHTIME CONCERT
Thursday 14 January
1pm at St George the Martyr,  Borough High Street; free
Piano recital by Pui Tak Fong. The recital lasts approx 45
minutes, followed by light refreshments and a chance to meet
the artist. Audience members are welcome to bring their
lunch to eat during the recital.

RICHARD III: (A ONE-WOMAN SHOW)
Thursday 14 to Saturday 30 January
Thu/Fri/Sat 7.30pm at Draper Tenants Hall, 1 Howell Walk;

Brite Theater has re-imagined Richard III as a one- woman
show. The fourth wall has been utterly obliterated as you
the audience takes on the roles of all the other characters
at Richard's party in this intimate, exciting and moving
production. Theatregoers are also offered the possibility of
paying for a 'suspended ticket', a way to offer free tickets
to the theatre for people unemployed, homeless or on
low-income.

BACH TO BABY
Friday 15 January
10.30am at St Mary Magdalen,  Bermondsey Street; �10 or less
online, �12 adult on the door; children free
Bach to Baby is brought to you by award-winning concert
pianist and local mum Miaomiao Yu. The idea is simply to
bring adults and kids of all ages together for a lively
morning of music. Suitable for both under 5s and under 95s.

SILENT VISIONS OF THE FUTURE: COIN STREET FILM CLUB
Friday 15 January
7.30pm (doors open 7pm) at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre,
108 Stamford Street; �5 including wine and snacks
A selection of short films from the silent era including
both factual and fictional explorations of what the future
might bring. The films will all be accompanied by local live
band, Ensemble Kino, who will be performing an original
score composed specially for the event.
