BIG LOCAL SOUTH BERMONDSEY COMMUNITY CHOIR
Tuesday 29 September
6pm-7.30pm  at St Philip's Church Hall,  Avondale Square
All are welcome to the Big Local South Bermondsey Community
Choir on Tuesday evenings. The choir is starting a new
series of rehearsals to prepare several Christmas
performances in the local area, including singing at a
Belmond British Pullman Christmas train journey for children
and their families on 12 December. All are welcome even if
you've never tried singing in a choir before. Contact Anna

HARVEST SALE
Thursday 1 October
11.30am-1pm at Market Hall, Borough Market, 8 Southwark
Street
Pupils from 12 Southwark schools will be selling their
seasonal vegetables, grown and nurtured from seed. The
Harvest Sale is part of a project by Borough Market and
School Food Matters, a charity whose mission is to ensure
that every child enjoys fresh, sustainable food at school
and understands where their food comes from. With the help
of funding from United St Saviour's Charity, the programme
started back in the summer where pupils were taught some
green fingered tips from Blue Peter gardener, Chris Collins.
These novice gardeners are now reaping the rewards of a
sun-filled summer with bumper crops of squash, herbs,
apples, beetroot and chard. All proceeds from the sale will
go to the charity FareShare.

6pm-7pm  at St John's Waterloo, 73 Waterloo Road; free
One of the UK's leading and most popular conductors, John
Wilson, returns to conduct an American programme with
Southbank Sinfonia.

HOTEL ELEPHANT OPEN
Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October
12 noon-6pm at Hotel Elephant, 23 Harper Road; free
Spread across two buildings, three floors and one car park,
Hotel Elephant Open invites visitors to explore the studios
and experience the work of more than 25 artists and creative
practitioners currently working in Southwark. Hotel
Elephant, working with the Charity Artcore International,
will open their new 'meanwhile use' property in SE1 to the
public for the Artlicks Weekend 2015 During the weekend
visitors are invited to explore artists studios at Harper
Road and encounter the work of artists from other Hotel
Elephant studio sites, exhibited throughout the building. On
display will be works created in an array of mediums, from
painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking and textiles,
to video, sound, multimedia, community arts and installation
based works. Hotel Elephant is a not for profit organisation
which provides affordable studio, exhibition and education
space and is pleased to be able to support recent graduates
and established artist to work in Southwark.

WATERLOO LIBRARY'S FUN PALACE
Saturday 3 October
2.30pm-5pm  at Waterloo Library, 114-118 Lower Marsh; free
Waterloo Library becomes a Fun Palace for the afternoon.
Orbital Comics are holding a comics workshop and the Friends
of Waterloo Library are hosting astronomy activities for all
ages.

UNICORN FUN PALACE

The Unicorn Theatre presents a day of free activities for
all the family at the meeting point between art and science.

storytelling, arts and crafts, interactive adventures and
exciting experiments.
