LORD MAYOR'S SHOW RIVER PAGEANT
Saturday 8 November
8.30am-9.30am on the River Thames
A pageant of upwards of 20 traditional Thames cutters will
leave Westminster Boating Base in Pimlico at 8.35am and
proceed downriver, taking the centre arch at Tower Bridge to
arrive at HMS President at 9.30am. The new Lord Mayor of
London will travel on the Royal Row Barge Gloriana and Tower
Bridge will be raised in salute at 9.25am.

LORD MAYOR'S SHOW FIREWORKS DISPLAY
Saturday 8 November
5.15pm on the River Thames; free
To mark the end of the Lord Mayor's Show and the beginning
of a new mayoral year, the City of London's newly confirmed
Lord Mayor will launch a 10-minute fireworks display over
the river between Blackfriars and Waterloo bridges. Both
bridges will be closed to traffic to make more room for
spectators.

BOROUGH REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE
Sunday 9 November
10.45am at Borough War Memorial,  Borough High Street
The Mayor of Southwark, local MPs, councillors and other
civic dignitaries gather at the Borough War Memorial for a
short service and wreath-laying ceremony.

CEREMONY OF REMEMBRANCE
Sunday 9 November
11am at Imperial War Museum,  Lambeth Road
At 11am, The Last Post will be sounded by a bugler in the
museum's atrium. This will then be followed by a two-minute
silence, with the ending signalled by a Reveille and a
recital on IWM's Western Front violin.

ACT OF REMEMBRANCE
Sunday 9 November
12.30pm at Soviet War Memorial, Geraldine Mary Harmsworth
Park, Lambeth Road
The Mayor of Southwark, diplomats from the embassies of
former Soviet countries, veterans and supporters of the
Soviet War Memorial will be present at this short act of
remembrance.

MICHAEL MORPURGO: WHO WILL SING THE ANTHEM, WHO WILL TELL
THE STORY?
Sunday 9 November
3pm at Imperial War Museum,  Lambeth Road; free
Join acclaimed writer Michael Morpurgo at the Annual Peace
Lecture as he discusses how his experiences of the
devastating aftermath of the Second World War helped to
inspire his writing. The lecture is organised by The
Movement for the Abolition of War.
