Tracey Gilbert is a novelist and short story writer from

the small triangle space between Queen Elizabeth Street and
Tooley Street. The statue of Samuel Bevington and the bust
of Ernest Bevin will also be refurbished. Come and share
your views and ideas about the space and enjoy a free BBQ
lunch.

SEVEN STREETS, TWO MARKETS AND A WEDDING
Friday 25 July
7pm (doors 6pm)  at Hotel Elephant Warehouse, rear of 40-42
Newington Causeway; free
A feature-length programme of archive films curated by
London's Screen Archives, this is a collection of 10 rare
films offering glimpses of lost London from 1930 to 1980.
Largely unseen for generations, these snapshots of London
life provide a unique insight into the continuities and
changes in the capital across the twentieth century. Viewers
will travel from Brent to Southwark via Hackney and
Hampstead Heath in this heritage showcase. Highlights
include the original Lambeth Walk, dray horses in '60s
Marylebone and an East End parade.

INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S CHOIR FESTIVAL FINAL CONCERT
Friday 25 July

Seven children's choirs from China, New Zealand, Canada and
the United States come to England to sing under D David
Flood, organist and master of the choristers at Canterbury
Cathedral, and Prof Henry Leck, America's top children's
choir expert.

SAF SUMMER FAIR

Southwark Arts Forum (SAF) will hold their fourth Summer
Fair. Their Arts Market supports local artists and makers
selling their hand-made arts & crafts and there will be a

workshops.

SUMMER TUMBLR CRAFT OPEN DAY

10.30am-5pm  at Garden Museum,  Lambeth Palace Road; �2.50
on the door; under 12s free
The museum brings together an array of talented designer
makers showcasing a variety of sustainable, eco-friendly
crafts and produce. A chance to purchase desirable and
affordable gifts and original artworks. Picnic refreshments
will be available to purchase from the museum's award
winning cafe. Plants and seeds will also be for sale from
the Garden Museum Flower Cart and there will be a drop in
visit from some of Vauxhall City Farm's animals. Admission
includes entry to the museum's Alan Titchmarsh exhibition.

CROSS BONES - PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE - GUIDED WALK
Sunday 27 July
2pm (assemble at 1.45pm) at Tabard Street piazza; free
Friends of Crossbones and Bankside Open Spaces Trust present
this guided walk with John Constable, author of The
Southwark Mysteries and Secret Bankside. This free walk
reveals the extraordinary story of Cross Bones, the
'outcasts graveyard'. Explore the medieval Liberty of the
Clink, visiting Winchester Palace and the sites of Bankside
prisons, bear-pits, playhouses and 'stews', then head south
via Cross Bones gates to Red Cross Garden and Mint Street
Park. Learn about the shrine and the vigils held at the
gates, and look at plans for a meanwhile garden and for a
longer-term garden of remembrance on the old burial ground.
The walk lasts 90 minutes and is supported by C.G. Hacking
and Sons. Suitable for ages 16+.
