This free walk reveals the extraordinary story of Cross Bones, the 'outcasts graveyard'. Explore the medieval Liberty of the Clink, visiting Winchester Palace and the sites of Bankside prisons, bear-pits, playhouses and 'stews', then head south via Cross Bones gates to Red Cross Garden and Mint Street Park. Learn about the shrine and the vigils held at the gates, and look at plans for a meanwhile garden and for a longer-term garden of remembrance on the old burial ground.
