THE ART OF BEING BRILLIANT

The Mayor of Southwark hosts a unique half-day workshop on
personal and community transformation with best-selling
author Andy Cope. 'The Art of Being Brilliant' provides an
antidote to the fast-paced world that typifies modern life.
Using cutting edge research, Andy Cope will share some of
the 'secrets' of positive psychology, focussing on learning
new habits of thinking and behaviour that will sustain
personal and community 'brilliance'. Ultimately, the aim of
this highly entertaining and engaging workshop is to
rejuvenate and inspire, with the impact felt at home, at
work, and in the wider community. Andy Cope is a qualified
teacher, author and learning junkie. He is currently
studying happiness, flourishing, and positivity as part of a
PhD thesis. His research feeds into this workshop which has
been delivered to rave reviews all over the world. Andy is
also a best-selling author. He has written 'The Art of Being
Brilliant' and 'Being Brilliant', self-help books for
adults, as well as 'A Brilliant Life' and 'The Game of
Life', the UK's first positive psychology books for
teenagers. The Mayor is offering 100 free places for
Southwark residents in both the morning (10am to 1pm) and

Leading support charity Breast Cancer Care is holding an
information session in South London for women affected by
breast cancer. This session offers the opportunity to hear
from Dr Terry Priestman, Oncologist and author of The Cancer
Survivor�s Handbook. Participants will learn about how
decisions about treatment options for primary breast cancer
are made, the different breast cancer drugs available, the
potential benefits and also side effects and some possible
ways to manage them. These interactive sessions have an
informal atmosphere and will give participants the chance to
hear from an expert speaker and to ask questions about the
subject. There will also be the chance to meet other women
from the local area and find out more about the wide range
of support services offered by Breast Cancer Care.
Participants are welcome to bring friends or family members.
