LEWISHAM COLLEGE WATERLOO CAMPUS - PUBLIC EXHIBITION
Monday 25 March
4.30pm-8pm  at Lewisham College, Waterloo Campus, The Cut
Lewisham College (incorporating Southwark College) invites
local residents and businesses to a public exhibition of
plans to refurbish and reconfigure the main entrance, atrium
and front building of its Waterloo Campus on The Cut. The
scheme will provide new business school facilities and a
larger and more welcoming entrance foyer that will include
an open space for both students and the wider community.
Lewisham College would like to consult local residents and
businesses before a planning application is submitted to
Southwark Council. After Monday's drop-in event
(4.30pm-8pm), the display boards will remain on view until

PUBLIC MEETING: HOUSING AND AMENITIES IN BOROUGH & BANKSIDE
Tuesday 26 March
6.30pm-8pm  at Blackfriars Settlement, 90-94 Great Suffolk

Blackfriars Settlement invites you to discuss affordable
housing and amenities for residents of Borough & Bankside
with Cllr Peter John, leader of Southwark Council, and his

REDEDICATION OF WAR MEMORIALS
Wednesday 27 March
10am-10.45am  at Southwark Council, 160 Tooley Street; free
The war memorials formerly displayed at Southwark Town Hall
will be rededicated in the atrium of the council's new
Tooley Street headquarters. The memorials are dedicated to
staff of the Old Metropolitan Borough of Camberwell who gave
their lives during the two World Wars. The Bishop of
Southwark, Rt Revd Christopher Chessun, will take part in
the ceremony and will be joined by other religious leaders
as well as representatives of the armed forces. The Mayor of
Southwark, the leader of the council and the chief executive
will attend. Members of the public are also most welcome to
attend. The council is also looking for assistance in
tracing any living relations of those listed on the war
memorials.

ALTERNATIVE EASTER EGG HUNT
Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April
10am-4pm at Design Museum,  Shad Thames; �1 after museum
admission
A printed trail will take visitors on an Easter journey
throughout the museum's current exhibitions to be rewarded
with a chocolaty prize. Participants will receive a mini
chocolate egg courtesy of luxury chocolatier Rococo
Chocolates at the end of their journey.

GOOD FRIDAY WALK OF WITNESS
Friday 29 March
Starts 11am at Southwark Cathedral,  London Bridge
An ecumenical walk along the riverside organised by local
churches, featuring readings, prayers and hymns along the
way. The walk starts at the Christ Rests in Peace
installation at the high altar of Southwark Cathedral and
ends at Our Lady of La Salette & St Joseph Church in Melior
Street.

THE GOOD FRIDAY POP-UP CHURCH
Good Friday 29 March
11am at Waterloo Station,  Waterloo Road
Members of local churches assemble on the concourse of
Waterloo Station to sing 'Amazing Grace' and assemble
donations for the Waterloo Foodbank. A Churches Together in
North Lambeth event.

REAL STREET FOOD FESTIVAL
Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April
12 noon-9pm (Sun & Mon 6pm) at Jubilee Gardens,  Belvedere
Road
First of a series of quarterly street food festivals on the
riverside walkway between the London Eye and Hungerford
Bridge. Combining the multiculturalism of London's street
food scene, with the ethos and philosophy of the Real Food
Festival, these events offer well sourced, high quality food
made by serious traders who truly care about what they do
and how they do it.

BAMA LAMA SING SONG
Friday 29 March
8pm (doors open 7.30pm) at The Miller, 96 Snowsfields; �5 on
the door
Communal rock singalong. A live (and very adaptable) band
will be playing songs from the fifties through to the
noughties. The lyrics to each song are projected onto the
wall. You can expect everything from Queen to Radiohead to
Bonnie Tyler to Michael Jackson.

TOM CARROLL FRUITING HEDGE AND TREE TRAIL PLANTING SESSION
Saturday 30 March
11am-1pm  at Webber Row Community Garden,  Webber Row; free
 As part of The Tree Council's new Fruitful Hedges project,
Carole Wright and local volunteers are coming together to
plant 60 metres of fruiting hedge and fruit and nut trees in
memory of Tom Carroll, late caretaker of Friars Primary
School and active member of the local community. "It will it
will be good for people and for wildlife and a fitting
tribute to Tom and his family," said Carole Wright. A
further planting session will be held on the Dodson and
Amigo Estate from 2pm to 4pm this Saturday.
