BACH TO BABY: SCENES FROM CHILDHOOD
Wednesday 16 January
10.30am (eat cake and mingle from 10am) at St Mary Magdalen,
Bermondsey Street; adults �10; children free
Classical concert series for baby and you organised by
concert pianist and local mum Miaomiao Yu. This month
Miaomiao gives a piano recital featuring works by Schumann,
Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bach and Ding Shande. Studies show
classical music can bring tremendous benefits to young
children, but the idea is simply to bring adults and kids of
all ages together for a lively morning of exceptional music.

AIR POLLUTION PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT EVENT

6pm at Biomedical Research Centre, 16th floor, Guy's

The National Institute for Health Research, Biomedical
Research Centre at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals and King's
College are inviting local people to this event to discuss
air pollution. The event will present findings of a study
that was carried out in Southwark and Lambeth to look at
different people's exposure to air pollution in their daily
lives. The event will also be a forum for open discussion
with researchers. They want to talk to local people about
what they know about air pollution, what they need to know
and what methods of communication would be helpful to them.
The input from local people is essential to develop the work
further as it will be based on the needs of the local
population. Refreshments provided and travel expenses
reimbursed.

This 1971 American black comedy romantic drama is a cult
classic. It revolves around the exploits of Harold, a
wealthy young man obsessed with death. Harold drifts away
from the life his mother prescribes for him, and develops a
life changing relationship with a 79-year-old woman named
Maude, much to his mother�s horror. Snacks, wine and soft

LIFT LONDON: FREE RIDE ON THE LONDON EYE
Saturday 19 January
Join the queue before 9.30am at London Eye, South Bank; free
To celebrate the reopening of the London Eye after its
annual January maintenance closure you can have a free
ticket if you join the queue before 9.30am sharp and say
"Lift London". The offer is a part of #LiftLondon, an
initiative with street photographer Matt Stuart to get
creative Londoners of all walks of life to create a picture
of a view from the London Eye, the best of which will be
shared via social media.
