SCROOGE - A GHOST OF A CHANCE
Monday 10 December
6.30pm-7.30pm  at St John's Waterloo, 73 Waterloo Road;

The combined choirs of Snowsfields, St Joseph's, Grange, St
Jude's Primary, Heber, Rotherhithe and Chesterton Primary
Schools - together with the Borough Music School choir -
perform this musical as part of local commemorations of the
bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens. Words by Colin
Baker and music by the famous children's composer Sheila
Wilson. Conducted by Jonathan Pix. There will be a small
number of standing places for members of the public
available at the door on the evening.

Borough Market�s cheesemongers will be on hand to talk
about, sample and sell a range of fabulous cheeses. There
will also be hot cider, beer and wine available and advice
on how best to match your cheese. The evening promises a
global view of artisan cheeses, from Ardrahan to Valencay,
and will be a great opportunity to pick up tips, like how to
select the perfect Vacherin Mont D�Or just ripe for
spooning. For caseophiles wanting more from their cheese
buying experience this is a chance to talk to affineurs and
gain some fascinating insights into their craft.

CAROLS FOR CLIC

More London and Making Music are inviting musicians and

area in and around Bankside and Borough. The study will help
to inform planning policies for the area and the planning
policy team wants to hear your views at this workshop event.

SPRINGBOARD ROCKS AT CHRISTMAS

presents a fundraising concert by Rock Choir, the largest
and most popular contemporary choir in the UK. The

A variety of gift stalls, craft stalls, indulgent treats and
hot food stalls. Featuring We Made London, a collective
dedicated to supporting the best of British designer-makers.
They will have around 20 stalls selling some of London's
best high end, hand made designer gifts - at affordable
prices. In addition there will be Christmas entertainment
and craft workshops.

A MAGICAL MYSTICAL TOUR OF LONDON

A virtual bus tour of London's sacred spots with the

Join Ken Titmuss for a walk with old maps exploring the
one-time leather capital of the world. Amongst tanners and
fell-mongers you will find find a 200 year old watch-house
and some fine 17th century houses. There is a lost burial

old map unlocks the secret life of a Victorian smithy.

CHARITY CHRISTMAS AUCTION

11am-9pm  at Anise Gallery, 13a Shad Thames
Anise Gallery presents a silent auction in aid of Article
25. The auction will be a culmination of this year's work,
showcasing pieces from past, present and future artists
providing a fantastic opportunity for everyone to buy a
unique, original piece of art work and help raise funds for
a worthwhile charity. Festive treats will be served all day
and into the evening. Anise Gallery staff will be on hand to
talk you through the art work on offer. Winning bids will be
notified the following day. All work will be available to
view at the gallery from Wednesday 12 December.

FIRST CAPITAL CONNECT SANTA SPECIAL TRAIN
Saturday 15 December
Father Christmas is travelling from Bedford to Brighton and
back on a First Capital Connect train. Santa will be
accompanied by his elves and helpers. Children travelling on
the train can look forward to receiving free gifts from
Santa and enjoying free entertainment from travelling face
painters, balloon artists and perhaps a magician or two.
Members of the Rotary Club of St Albans Verulamium will be
on board the train collecting for charity throughout the
journey. The eight-carriage train is a scheduled service and
will leave Bedford at 10.10am. The southbound train calls at
Blackfriars at 11.20am and London Bridge at 11.27am.
Northbound, the train is scheduled to stop at London Bridge
at 1.45pm and Blackfriars at 1.54pm.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
Saturday 15 December
12pm-3pm  at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, 108 Stamford
Street
Celebrate Christmas and help to raise money for new outdoor
play equipment for Coin Street family and children's centre.
Visit Father Christmas and receive a small gift. There will
be refreshments for sale and a variety of stalls including
cakes, arts and crafts, nearly new and more. Try your luck
at our tombola and raffle and enjoy festive music, including
an a cappella choir from 2pm to 3pm. Tickets �2 per child
available in advance at Coin Street neighbourhood centre or
�3 on the door. The ticket price includes the gift from
Santa. Adults go free.

ORGAN RECITAL BY NORMAN HARPER: LA NATIVITE DU SEIGNEUR

charity providing high-quality musical education at a
subsidised cost for children in Southwark.

Londoners are invited to join City Hall staff and
representatives from businesses, community organisations and
faith groups at this Christmas celebration. There will be a
selection of congregational carols, a variety of Bible and
secular readings as well as music performed by guest choirs.
To be sure of a seat, members of the congregation are
advised to arrive early.
