Wednesday 29 August
Lambeth Bridge 11.44am; Tower Bridge 1.19pm; free
As part of a 24-hour journey from Stoke Mandeville to the
Olympic Park, the flame will arrive in SE1 via Lambeth
Bridge. The relay will make its way to the London Eye via
Lambeth Palace Road, York Road and Chicheley Street before
heading north along the Queen's Walk, under Hungerford
Bridge and Waterloo Bridge at 11.44am. At the National
Theatre the relay continues along Theatre Avenue, Belvedere
Road and Concert Hall Approach before leaving Lambeth and
SE1 via Waterloo Bridge (12.17pm). After a tour of the City
of London the flame will return to SE1  and arrive in
Southwark  via Tower Bridge (1.19pm), make a loop round
City Hall and then continue east along Tooley Street and
Jamaica Road to Rotherhithe and Surrey Docks.

Wednesday 29 August to Sunday 9 September
12 noon-4pm at Guy's Hospital, Hay's Galleria & London
Bridge City Pier; free
Team London Bridge has commissioned 25 street performers
aged 25 and under to provide colour and entertainment every
day of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Performances range
from hula hoop to live painting, puppeteering to acoustic
guitar and interactive improv to dance lessons. Some acts
are solo performances while others are large theatre
companies. The wide range of creative groups will create
vibrant cultural spaces for residents, visitors and members
of the business community and will reinforce London Bridge
as a major hub this summer. Performers were recruited
through IdeasTap, an arts charity set up to help young,
creative people at the start of their careers.

Watch the best action from the Paralympic Games for free
live on a big screen next to Tower Bridge. From Bollywood
dance to short films by young Londoners, walkabout
characters, steel pans and the Extreme Postal Force, the
park will host a full line up of entertainment too. There

11am-12pm  at East Street Library, 168-170 Old Kent Road;
Celebrate languages in Southwark with multi-lingual
storytelling. For families and children aged 2 to 7 years.
Come and experience popular stories in Spanish and Greek and
listen to the wonderful sounds of different languages. Part
of the Elephant and the Nun festival.

4pm-7pm  at The Goodlife Centre, 122 Webber Street; free
Come and see what The Goodlife Centre is all about. Visit
the centre, meet the tutors, check out workshops and enjoy
tea and biscuits.

10am-4pm  at Henry Wood Hall,  Trinity Church Square; free
Hundreds of books, CDs, DVDs and also many and varied
bric-a-brac. Free entry. In aid of Trinity Newington
Residents Association funds. Donations welcome.

2pm-5pm  at Christ Church Southwark, 27 Blackfriars Road;
Action Plus Foundation, a community health project, is
holding a summer fete to promote the organisation's work and
get to know its neighbours. Funded by the Borough, Bankside
& Walworth Community Council. Activities include quiz, food,
games, music, information stalls and youth talent show. To

Saturday 1 September
12.30pm & 2.30pm at Elephant & Castle Southern Junction,
Newington Butts
Brimborions is a highly colourful, interactive walkabout
performance by two cartoonesque characters on motorised
scooters who play with the audience as they go buzzing and
bumbling through the crowds, whilst singing a series of
nonsensical rhymes in squeaky comic voices. Part of the
Elephant and the Nun festival.

Sunday 2 September
12pm-6pm  at St Mary's Churchyard,  Newington Butts; free
Music, colour and creativity from Latin America with live
performances, traditional dancers, drummers, musical
sculptures, puppets and food. Andean music, Afro-Latin
rhythms, tales and legends reveal the unique character of
the Amazon offering a fascinating glimpse into the colourful
landscape of Latin America and its astounding diversity.

3.30pm-8pm  at Morley College, 61 Westminster Bridge Road
From fashion design, sound engineering and street dance
