Annual event organised by the Friends of Southwark
Cathedral. This year's market will be in a marquee in the
Millennium Courtyard. Come and find Christmas gifts whilst

THE ADVENT PROCESSION
Sunday 28 November
6.30pm at Southwark Cathedral,  London Bridge
A candlelit service to mark the start of the season of
Advent. This year's theme is 'The Advent Crown' and the
readings and the music will reflect the five candles on the
crown which represent the patriarchs and matriarchs of the
faith, the prophets, St John the Baptist, the Blessed Virgin
Mary and the Lord Jesus Christ. Arrive early to be sure of a
seat.

STORY, SILENCE AND THE PRESENT IMAGINATION
Monday 29 November
7pm at St John's Waterloo,  Waterloo Road; �5
A wide ranging discussion about the questions raised by the
sculpture 'Shadows of the Wanderer'. This large sculptural
group recalls the tale of Aeneas, who carries his father,
Anchises, from the ruins of Troy. It also resonates
powerfully with present-day issues, particularly the
displacement of people. The panel includes Karen Armstrong,
Ana Maria Pacheco and Xavier Bray. The evening will be
chaired by Neil MacGregor, director of the British Museum.

or any combination? These underpin the local resident run
websites http://www.peckhamvision.org and
http://www.bellenden.net   Our volunteer who provides the
technical maintenance support for us is leaving, so we need
some replacement support. This is all done by email. If you
are familiar with Drupal, Mediawiki or Wordpress, and think
you would like to volunteer to help, please email:

an enjoyable opportunity for anyone who is technically
experienced with websites. There is an added bonus for
