Music, speeches and wreath-laying. The memorial has been in Jubilee Gardens since 1985. This year there is a chance to see Antifascistas, an exhibition on the British and Irish volunteers in the Spanish Civil War, written, designed and produced by the IBMT. From the viewing platform off Sumner Street, the three Bankside Power Station oil tanks, at the foundation of the new building, will be visible. The Food Exchange will also play host to the official launch of the Nomadic Allotments project. Built by Cardiff University students, the allotments are required to be versatile, economical, lightweight and portable and will incorporate reclaimed and recycled market materials such as pallets and packaging.
