VAUXHALL: A LITTLE HISTORY GUIDED WALK

Penny Howard leads a walk back through time, from Vauxhall's
origins in the forced marriage of a teenage widow and mother
to a brutal mercenary, through to the heyday of Vauxhall
Gardens, the grime of the industrial revolution and thsen on
to the present day of spies, bridges and the great pineapple
controversy. Duration: 2 hours, finishing back at Vauxhall.

FRIGHT BIKE 4: STATIONS OF THE DEAD GUIDED BIKE RIDE

Meet 7pm next to Lawrence Olivier statue @ National Theatre;

This guided bike ride is a collaboration between the One Eye
Grey penny dreadful and Southwark Cyclists. Spectral Eskimo
babies, dueling prime ministers and ghostly royalty
alongside some spooky barges and unlikely (but true)
folklore. Beautiful hidden buildings, gorgeous bits of
riverfront and some rather attractive parkland also feature
in this nicely languid loop starting and finishing in
Lambeth, where the lambs were landed dontcha know?

BERMONDSEY & ROTHERHITHE CARNIVAL

Parade starts 2pm at Spa Gardens, Grange Road; free
This year's Bermondsey & Rotherhithe Carnival is centred on
Southwark Park's bandstand with events taking place between
12 noon and 6pm. The carnival procession will start at
Bermondsey's Spa Gardens at 2pm. The Blitz-themed parade,
run by local arts company Arts Desire, will snake its way to
Southwark Park via The Blue.

These historic moorings date back 200 years or more. Gardens
have been created on the decks of many of the barges to form

NOTES FROM A BIG COUNTRY: AMERICAN CONCERT FOR WORLD CUP

This Wimbledon Choral Society concert has an American theme,
comprising music by American composers or with American
influences, and is timed to coincide with England's World
Cup football match against the USA. The start time of 6pm
