CATHEDRAL CAROL SERVICE
Tuesday 22 December
6.30pm at Southwark Cathedral,  London Bridge
Second of two popular Southwark Carol Services with carols
sung by the boys, girls and men of the Cathedral Choir in
candlelight. This year the readings are taken from St
Matthew's account of the birth of Jesus and will be
interspersed with congregational and choir carols.

MIDNIGHT MASS AT SOUTHWARK CATHEDRAL
Thursday 24 December
11.30pm at Southwark Cathedral,  London Bridge
This traditional service begins with the blessing of the
crib by the Bishop of Southwark. The whole service is
conducted in candlelight and will be the last time that the
Bishop, the Rt Revd Tom Butler, will preside and preach at
the Christmas service in the Cathedral as he will retire in
March 2010. All are welcome to come and make their Christmas
communion and join in the angels' praise of the birth of the
Son of God.

MIDNIGHT MASS OF THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD AT ST GEORGE'S
CATHEDRAL
Thursday 24 December
Midnight (carols from 11.30pm) at St George's RC Cathedral,

First Mass of Christmas. Preceded at 11.30pm by a service of
Christmas carols and readings.

2512 BIKE RIDE WITH SOUTHWARK CYCLISTS
Friday 25 December
Meet 11am at Southwark Needle,  London Bridge; free
Slow and very sociable bike ride round deserted London on
the smiliest day of the year in diverse company. Join
in/drop out whenever or stay for a late lunch up Edgware
Road. The ride costs nothing, there's no need to book or
check that it's still on: it won't be cancelled. Just turn
