CUBA VIDA AND CUBA LIBRE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITIONS
BY TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER ELEANOR MARRIOTT
Travel photographer Eleanor Marriott is holding another solo
London exhibition of her Cuban photographs this summer.
Cuba Vida, in conjunction with ArTELIER, consists of
Eleanor's ten most popular photographs commemorating 50
years since the Cuban Revolution. It takes place at the
Bridewell Theatre bar just off Fleet Street until 15 August
2009.
Eleanor's larger Cuba Libre exhibition at Canning House on
Belgrave Square has also been extended due to popular demand
until the end of July 2009. So there are now two
opportunities to see her photographic portrayals of Cuban
life.
In 2009 Eleanor Marriott travelled around Cuba photographing
the island in order to capture the spirit of the place 50
years after its revolution. She discovered that Cuba is much
more than a land of cigars and classic cars. It's a place of
crumbling colonial buildings, of music coming from houses,
plazas, cafes and bars; of men playing dominoes on porches
and children playing baseball in the streets with plastic
bottle caps and sticks of wood.
