through the streets of London. Meet 10am Cutty Sark Gardens

meander round central London in very good and diverse
company. Drop out whenever or stay for a lunch up Edgware
Road and maybe a pub after.

12 noon at Clore Ballroom, Royal Festival Hall, Belvedere

From the foxtrot to the jitterbug, Strictly Christmas
Ballroom gives dancers of all ages and abilities the chance
to put on their glad rags and dance the night away with live
music from the Ross Mitchell Band.

NEW YEAR FIREWORKS
Wednesday 31 December
Build-up from 11.50pm approx at London Eye; free
Once again millions of people around the world will have
their eyes on the South Bank firework display around the
London Eye, courtesy of the Mayor of London. Renowned
pyrotechnician Christophe Berthonneau will light up the sky
around the London Eye to mark the start of 2009. Space is
severely limited along the Thames to watch the fireworks
live. For those able to able to get into the viewing areas,
there will be specially mixed soundtrack from BBC Radio 1 as
they wait for the fireworks at midnight.
At 6pm Westminster Bridge, Victoria Embankment and approach
roads leading onto it will close. At 8pm the rest of the
affected area  will close.
