MARITIME RITES: SPECTACULAR MUSIC PERFORMANCE ON THE THAMES
Friday 14 September
5.30pm-7pm at Millennium Bridge, Bankside; free
The American composer and artist Alvin Curran will be
stationed on a barge in the middle of the Thames, leading
the London Symphony Orchestra Brass, the UBS Orchestra and
over 300 volunteers for the UK premiere of Maritime Rites.
This spectacular performance inspired by the sounds of the
river, and concluding with the bells of St Paul's Cathedral,
will take place outside Tate Modern and on the Millennium
Bridge.

BERMONDSEY STREET FESTIVAL: CELEBRATING CREATIVITY
Saturday 15 September
12 noon-9pm at Tanner Street Park; free
Live bands, street performers, children's activities and a
local history talk. The festival ends with an outdoor film
screening. Events in Bermondsey Street, Tanner Street Park
and Leathermarket Gardens.

THE MAYOR'S THAMES FESTIVAL
Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 September
Annual free festival along the river between Westminster
Bridge and Tower Bridge - two days packed with activities
and performances culminating in a Night Carnival and
Fireworks on Sunday night. Highlights this year include a
'Feast on the River' on Southwark Bridge on Saturday.

LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL: YARD SALE AT PACIFIC PLAYHOUSE
Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 September (also following weekend)
10am-5.30pm at Playhouse Court, 62 Southwark Bridge Road
20 designers sell one-off and limited-edition 2D and 3D work
with many pieces accompanied by the process/sketch book.
Come down for a cucumber sandwich and a home-made cake.
