BANKSIDE URBAN FOREST EXHIBITION
Tuesday 10 to Friday 13 April
at Jerwood Space, 171 Union Street
Bankside Urban Forest is a co-ordinated urban design
framework for improvements to the public realm within the
area extending from the river edge down to the Elephant and
Castle, bordered by Blackfriars Road and Borough High
Street. The work has been commissioned by a broad group
comprising the London Borough of Southwark, Tate Modern, The
Architecture Foundation, Transport for London, Land
Securities, Cross River Partnership, Native Land, and has
been co-ordinated by Better Bankside.

WATERLOO LIBRARY LUNCHTIME READING GROUP: LIFE OF PI
Thursday 12 April
12.15pm at Waterloo Library, 114-118 Lower Marsh
The group is reading Life of Pi by Yann Martell which will
be discussed at the April meeting. To borrow a copy of the
book ask the librarians at the Lower Marsh library. Feel
free to bring your lunch along. You do not need to be a
Lambeth resident to join the reading group.

A POET TAKES OVER - MEET THE NEW REGIME AT CALDER BOOKSHOP
Thursday 12 April
6.45pm at Calder Bookshop, 51 The Cut
John Calder will introduce Alessandro Gallenzi of the
literary group that is now taking over the Calder Bookshop
and Publishing Companies but still involving their founder.
Mr Gallenzi will read from his own poetry in Italian and
John Calder will also read from the English translation and
perhaps some of his own work. A new regime will be
inaugurated in the most suitable way possible.

STUART INMAN - SURREALISM AND MAGIC
SOUTH EAST LONDON FOLKLORE SOCIETY
Thursday 12 April

Stuart is a founder member of the London Surrealist Group
and a scholar of surrealism. The current talk examines a
much misunderstood aspect of surrealism, its engagement with
hermetic, alchemical and occult thought.

off to the 2007 Milan Furniture Fair it's only fitting that
April's Design Overtime will be talking Italian.
