Time Banking is a tool that focuses on peoples skills. A paid broker links people up matching people's skills with people that need the skill. Every hour a time bank participant spends helping another participant they earn a time credit. Already at the Waterloo Time Bank one participant has earned time credits by playing the piano at a sing-song at sheltered accommodation in Waterloo, another spent her time credits on help with her English, and someone else is earning time credits by helping pensioners with their gardens. Already over 70 hours have been exchanged. That's 70 hours of people spending time together, sharing skills and building community. Watch this space for more details on how you can get involved. http://www.neweconomics.org ST HUGH'S DAY CELEBRATIONS AT CHARTERHOUSE-IN-SOUTHWARK Tuesday 19 November 7.30pm at St Hugh's Church, Charterhouse-in-Southwark, Rainbow Building, Crosby Row Patronal festival Eucharist with the Charterhouse School Choir and an address by artist Adam Boulter on the painting of "Spirituality in the Wilderness", a series of five canvasses now hanging in the church, each revealing an aspect of spirituality which is common to the Christian faith and one or more of the world faiths.
