RIOJA TAPAS FANTASTICAS

Sat 12 noon-8pm; Sun 12 noon-6pm at Potters Fields Park,
Tooley Street; free
A free two-day festival celebrating Rioja wine, Spanish food
and lifestyle. On arrival visitors can purchase a tasting
glass for �3.50 and receive four tokens to exchange for
glasses of Rioja wines. During the weekend there will be
live Spanish music, wine tasting workshops and wine walks.

MAKE SPACE OPEN STUDIOS
Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 June
11am-6pm  at Make Space Studios,  Newnham Terrace; free
Open Studios is a bi-annual opportunity to peer inside the
workings of Make Space Studios � a unique artists community
nestled next to the tracks of Waterloo station. The weekend
showcases the creativity and diversity of over 60 residents.
Painters, ceramicists, illustrators, sculptors,
print-makers, fashion designers, architects, set designers,
photographers and more all have work on display and/or sale
throughout the weekend. On Saturday afternoon from 3pm
performing artists display their skills with DJing, live
musical performances and dance events. A cafe offers
homemade refreshments and there are activities to keep any
young visitors entertained.

OUTER SPACES IN THE SOUTH BANK AND WATERLOO: SOUTH BANK AREA

'Walkshop' organised by the group preparing a neighbourhood
plan for the South Bank and Waterloo. An area gets its
character as much from the spaces in between buildings as
from the buildings themselves. This walk considers our
changing relationship to public space � complex patterns of
ownership, management and use.

CHANGING LANDSCAPES FILM EVENING

6pm (doors open 5pm) at Hotel Elephant Warehouse, rear of
40-42 Newington Causeway; free
Screening of films from the London Metropolitan Archive,
documenting the changing landscape of the city in the 1960s
and 1970s, a period of the development which has shape the
current landscape of our city. The evening will culminate
with the 1967 Jacques Tati film 'Play Time'. Alongside this
visitors will get the chance to preview the Demolition
Drawing exhibition.

Styles House allotment has been developed on a piece of
derelict Transport for London land next to Southwark
Underground Station. With funding from Capital Growth and
Southwark Council, residents have built raised beds for food

CELEBRATING SANCTUARY LONDON

The UK's largest free outdoor festival celebrating the arts
by, with and about refugees returns to the South Bank as the
launch of Refugee Week UK 2014, a nationwide programme of
cultural and educational events which celebrate the
contribution of refugees, and aims to encourage better
understanding between communities. Celebrating Sanctuary
London, now in its 15th year, is a day out for the entire
family, featuring live music, dance, international food
delights, spoken word & poetry, workshops, information
stalls and art installations.
