PANCAKE RACE WITH BETTER BANKSIDE IN MONTAGUE CLOSE
Tuesday 16 February
12pm-2pm  at Cathedral Square,  Montague Close
Come and cheer on the teams from local businesses as they
compete in the annual Shrove Tuesday Better Bankside pancake
race. Spectators can buy pancakes from Baxter's and the
cathedral Refectory. Last year's race was won by the team
from the London Marathon HQ on Southwark Street. The race is
held in aid of local charity Paintings in Hospitals which is
based at the Menier Gallery. The Refectory will be serving
pancakes at breakfast from 8.30am

A sewing expert will give a presentation on basic clothes
repairs such as darning and buttons. As well as clothes
repairs, there will be discussion about sewing projects you
can do with old clothes or scraps of materials such as
shopping bags and draught excluders.

GRAND PLAN: HALF TERM MODELMAKING & MINI-SCULPTURE WORKSHOP

A one day modelmaking & mini-sculpture workshop. Put your
home, school or favourite building on the mapin an afternoon
of model-making and crafts in a public gallery. Coin Street
Heritage Project wants participants to make a small model of
an existing, fictional or fantastical building in the area.
Or make a sculpture that you'd like to see in the area
between Waterloo Bridge and London Bridge.

It's a stick up! The Designers in Residence have taken over
the museum for one night only. Design Overtime returns with
a programme packed with talks, tasks and trails devised with
the requited enthusiasm of the FIVE emerging designers that
have been residing at the museum over the winter. Be
intrigued by their innovative work, informed by their
ingenious interpretation and interact with their itinerary
of activities.

organised a concert for local people with support from
Southwark Council. Pegasus Chamber choir and piano soloist

and Chopin. Tickets include a free glass of wine at the
interval and a buffet after the concert.
