In this illustrated lecture, Grenville Hancox will outline
the centrality of singing in a balanced and caring society.
By reference through practical engagement and research
findings, he will argue that singing in groups offers a cost
effective and enjoyable means of improving the health of our
nation too often ignored, overlooked or marginalised.

WINTER HEALTH AND WELLBEING DAY
Thursday 25 January
10am-4pm  at Blackfriars Settlement, 1 Rushworth Street;
free
'Positive Ageing @ Blackfriars' is hosting a free event for
older people. The programme includes chair-based yoga, NHS
health checks, reflexology, exercise, nutrition advice,
massage, pedicure, manicure and advice from Age UK and
others. There will be healthy snacks and a warming lunch,
too.

HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY
Friday 26 January
11am at Soviet War Memorial, Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park,
Lambeth Road; free
The commemoration begins with a brief wreath-laying ceremony
at the Holocaust Memorial Tree and Soviet War Memorial which
stand together in the Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park which
surrounds the Imperial War Museum.

For one night only stars of the West End and UK Theatre are
getting together to give you a whirlwind tour of the very
best of Broadway Musicals from Rodgers & Hammerstein to
Pasek & Paul and Sondheim to Jason Robert Brown, all to
raise money for Oasis Farm Waterloo to help with their vital
outreach work within the community.

INCREDIBLE EDIBLE SEED SWAP
Saturday 27 January
1pm-3pm  at Garden Museum,  Lambeth Palace Road; free
Start getting your ideas together and swap seeds, seedlings
or small plants with other gardeners. You can bring seeds
that you have saved from your own plants or packets of seeds
to split. There will also be some seeds to buy and Franchi
Seeds have generously supplied some free seeds to share too.
On the day you can also hear from a local seed saver about
the best ways to save and store seed.
