RIVERSIDE WARD SAFER NEIGHBOURHOODS PANEL MEETING

Come and discuss with the Police and Panel members your
safety and security issues and concerns in the Riverside
Ward (the area bordered by the Thames in the North, the
railway line in the South, Southwark Park Road in the East
and London Bridge in the West). Everyone very welcome; just
turn up. At the meeting we agree the issues in the Riverside
Ward on which the Safer Neighbourhoods Police Team is to
focus its activity over the next few months. For more

BAD KING JOHN?: PENNY LECTURE

tales of Robin Hood - greedy, cowardly, despicable and
cruel. But who was the man behind the legend? Was he truly a
monster, or a capable ruler cursed by ill luck? In this talk
Marc Morris examines John's career and character, and
assesses the king's actions against the standards of his own
age.

WHY DO WE LOVE SHAD THAMES?
Saturday 23 September
10.30am-12.30pm  at Butler's Wharf Pier,  Shad Thames; free
Free event led by STAMP (Shad Thames Area Management
Partnership) guiding you through the transformation of Shad
Thames from an industrial centre in the Pool of London to a
desirable riverside location to live, work and visit, and
signalling what direction it might take in future. Meet at
10.30am on a boat moored at Butlers Wharf Pier for
refreshments, an introduction to the area and personal
stories about Shad Thames. Then head out on foot to discover
local 'placemarks' that contribute to the area's character
and make it distinctive.

THE RADICAL GLC AND THE SOUTH BANK - GUIDED WALK
