To mark International Women's Day, Bankside Open Spaces Trust presents a free lunchtime talk by broadcaster and author Gillian Darley, who will speak about Octavia Hill, social reformer and founder of the National Trust. The talk will last half an hour and will be followed by a tour of Octavia Hill's Red Cross Garden.

THE FUTURE OF SHAD THAMES STREETS? HAVE YOUR SAY

Join STAMP (Shad Thames Area Management Partnership) for a community conversation about proposals to improve the streets and public spaces in the area. The proposals aim to enhance the quality of life for everyone who lives, works and visits here, while maintaining the area's distinctive character. Come along and share your views about what works best for the local community. You'll have a chance to chat with representatives from Southwark Council, with your elected Riverside ward Councillors and with Shad Thames neighbours. Whether or not you can attend the event, you are invited to complete the online survey.
