CROSSBONES FESTIVAL
Tuesday 23 June
3pm-8pm  at Cross Bones Graveyard,  Redcross Way; free
Guided tours, performances and a simple participatory
ceremony to inaugurate the new garden of remembrance at
Crossbones, the outcasts' burial ground. Hosted by John
Constable, the 'Bard of Southwark' who revealed the secret
history of Crossbones in The Southwark Mysteries. With Nigel
of Bermondsey, the south London folklorist who immortalised
Crossbones in song, violin virtuoso and street opera diva
Kirsten Morrison, singer-autoharpist Irene Anderson and poet
Ana Sefer. There'll be opportunities for poems, songs and
personal testimonies from the audience. For your comfort,
please bring a cushion and dress for the weather.

WATERLOO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP GENERAL MEETING
Wednesday 24 June
7pm at Waterloo Action Centre, 14 Baylis Road; free
Regular public meeting of the group that monitors planning
issues in Waterloo. This meeting has a focus on open spaces
and green spaces. Agenda includes the proposals for
Archbishop's Park, Hungerford Car Park, the Garden Bridge
and Hatfields Green.

UNION PARADE CONSULTATION
Thursday 25 June
6pm-7pm outside Union Jack pub, Great Suffolk Street
A number of projects are under way at the junction of Great
Suffolk Street and Union Street, including the construction
of the Union Yard arches redevelopment, the Music Box and
the Quietway cycle route. Better Bankside has secured a
grant from the Greater London Authority's High Street Fund
to make improvements to the streetscene in this location
which will tie into the new Quietway cycle route and the
construction of the new cultural developments. A draft
design has been developed which seeks to improve the public
realm, with new trees and planting, high quality yorkstone
paving and seating. Come and meet the partners and the
design team to discuss the project outside the Union Jack
pub.

restaurants, bars and breweries join together for an evening
of al fresco fine food and drink set in front of �White Cube
Bermondsey. Carefully selected dishes from Aqua Shard,

Co, The Garrison, Village East will be available on the
night. There will also be some of the finest locally made

LIKE AN OPEN SKY: COIN STREET FILM CLUB

children. Day after day, the staff engage with each child to
explore their individuality and enrich their lives. Meet

on celebrating community activity and participation by
