Theatre in Park Street, Bankside. Save the Rose, a film shot
on VHS by local resident Richard Miller, brilliantly
captures the atmosphere and tension which built during the
day and on into the evening as Simon Hughes MP, Sam
Wanamaker, Simon Jenkins and others addressed the campaign
rally to ensure the site was preserved for future
generations. The screening includes a newly-edited version
of the film, together with an introductory talk by Richard
Miller on his impressions of the Bankside area in the 1980s,
the subsequent discovery of the theatre remains and the
making of his film.
