TOWER BRIDGE ROAD CHRISTMAS FAYRE
Monday 2 December
6.30pm-10pm  at Tower Tandoori, 74-76 Tower Bridge Road;
free
Hosted by local Indian restaurant Tower Tandoori in
conjunction with Southwark Council, the free fayre will
showcase a number of local businesses with pop up stalls
inside the restaurant. Tower Tandoori will also provide a
traditional Indian banquet free of charge to visitors. There
will be a live band and look out for Santa's reindeer who
will be dropping in.

GKT MUSIC SOCIETY: A CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Tuesday 3 December
7.30pm at Southwark Cathedral,  London Bridge; �10 (conc �6)
in advance; �12 (conc �8) on the door
GKT Music Society is the collective name for Guy's, King's
and St Thomas' medical school's orchestra and choir. The
society can trace back its history many years, and was once
briefly directed by Vaughan Williams. This year's Christmas
concert is directed by Clare Clements and features Rhianwen
Pugh on the harp. The concert will include music by Britten,
Vivaldi and Rimsky-Korsakov as well as many traditional
carols with audience participation.

ST NICHOLAS DAY CHRISTINGLE SERVICE
Wednesday 4 December
5.30pm-6.15pm  at Southwark Cathedral,  London Bridge
Better Bankside has teamed up with Southwark Cathedral and
Borough Market to organise this seasonal service and
celebration for local businesses and families. The annual
Christingle Service will begin at 5.30pm with carols and the
lighting of traditional Christingle candles made by local
children. Following the service the congregation makes its
way to Borough Market for the switching on of the market's
Christmas tree lights. Refreshments will be served.

There will be a wide range of stalls including cakes and
home produce, books, jewellery & cosmetics, toys, linens and
gifts. Annual fundraising event for the Friends of St
Thomas' Hospital.

PARKINSON'S UK CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Mercy Ships UK is a 35 year old global charity operating the
world�s largest charity hospital ship, The Africa Mercy, and
providing free medical and humanitarian aid to the world�s
poorest people. The Rt Revd Christopher Chessun, Bishop of
Southwark, will be giving the address.

WATERLOO CHRISTMAS MARKET IN LOWER MARSH
Friday 6 to Saturday 7 December
11am-3pm at Lower Marsh
Featuring many weekday traders, the market will also be
joined by crafts and gifts stalls and the return of the
popular Morley College makers' stall. Father Christmas will
be in residence in the new piazza outside Cubana between
3.30pm and 5pm on Friday and from 12 noon to 2.30pm on
Saturday. Visits to Santa's Grotto cost �2.

SOUTHWARK SALT GIVEAWAY
Saturday 7 December
3pm-4.30pm outside 105 Tower Bridge Road; free
With the coldest winter months approaching, Southwark
Council is offering local residents a chance to keep their
own pathways and footpaths clear with a free 5kg bag of
salt. Residents are welcome to collect a bag for an elderly
neighbour or those unable to salt their own pavement to
reduce the risk of ice. Officers will also be armed with top
tips on how to make to make the most of the salt this
winter.
