hidden clues in the businesses and public buildings of Lower
Marsh. Thanks to the generosity of the local community, you
could win a meal for two at Cubana restaurant, chocolates,
stationery, beauty products, free coffees, vouchers and much
more. Please donate �3-�5 per person in your team. Entry
forms with full instructions are available from Christian
Aid reception 35 Lower Marsh Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. When you think
you've found all the hidden clues, please return your entry
form to Christian Aid before 10am on 20 May. Winners will be

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK
Monday 13 May
10am-4pm  at Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre,  Elephant
and Castle; free
One in four of us will experience a mental health difficulty
during our lives and much work has been devoted over the
last few years to tackling mental health stigma, for example
by the Time to Change campaign. To mark Mental Health
Awareness Week, this year focusing on physical activity, a
team from the Maudsley will have an information/activity
stall jointly run by staff and service users. Come and chat,
have a go with the hula hoops and take information away with
you.

WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT WATER: SCIENCE IN THE PUB

The properties of water are so unusual they often seem to
disobey the established laws of physics. Professor Martin
Chaplin will explain the ways that water circumvents these
laws and why we should always treat strange aqueous
phenomena with an open mind. Free, but there is a whip-round
for speakers' expenses. Surplus at the end of the year to
the Wallace Global Fund as this year is the centenary of
Wallace's death.

THE MYSTERIES PILGRIMAGE: GUIDED WALK WITH JOHN CONSTABLE

Southwark's history vividly brought to life on these guided
walks with writer and performer John Constable, author of
The Southwark Mysteries and Secret Bankside - Walks In The
Outlaw Borough. John Constable performs poems and songs from
The Southwark Mysteries, on a tour of the places that
inspired this epic work. From the Marshalsea Prison and
Chaucer's Tabard Inn, through the medieval Liberty of the
Clink with its taverns, bear-pits and 'stews', to end at
Crossbones, the outcasts' graveyard.

WELFARE REFORM ROADSHOW

affect you? Southwark Legal Advice Network and Southwark
Council are working with partners to provide advice and
support around the borough to residents who will be affected

SOUTH LONDON SAXOPHONE QUARTET

The South London Saxophone Quartet is performing a range of
beautiful music including light classical and blues music
with a programme exploring the relationship between music
and mental health: "blues is easy to play but hard to feel"
� Jimi Hendrix. The baritone sax player is the programme
leader for the BSc in Mental Health Nursing at King's
College London and runs a module in Nursing & the Arts. It
is a free concert and all are welcome. There will be a
retiring collection in aid of The Mind & Soul Choir from
South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
