Summer Language Classes 2013: French, Spanish, Italian,
German, and Portuguese


A series of language courses will be running from Tuesday
May 14 to Thursday July 18th for ten weeks and will be held
at Chiswell Street near Moorgate and on Thursdays at More
London (near London Bridge). Courses are open to beginners,
intermediate and advanced speakers of French, Spanish and
Italian as well as beginners of Portuguese and German.The

WHAT_NOW 2013: DANCING IN CONTEXT

Siobhan Davies Dance opens its doors to welcome some of the
most exciting dance artists, choreographers and thinkers
from across Europe. Co-presented with Independent Dance,
what_now 2013 is a celebration of artists' resilience,
creativity and adaptability in the face of a changing
society. Siobhan Davies Studios will become a meeting point
for thought-provoking discussions, performances, and
installations which will take place in and around the spaces
of the building as well as via Skype from other countries.
Guests and performers include: Ivana M�ller, Jonathan
Burrows, Michael Kli�n, Jared Gradinger and Angela Schubot.

SINGING IN THE SPRING
Saturday 6 April
7.30pm at 1901 Arts Club, 7 Exton Street; �15
This concert by contemporary music ensemble Twenty21
celebrates the art of singing and instrumental melody. The
recital features guest artist Clarinettist, Eugene Jones who
will collaborate with Soprano, Judith Sheridan on two sets
of duets by Vaughan Williams and Jacob Gordon. Pianist Craig
Combs will join the duo to present Hirtenlied by Meyerbeer
and the amazing Mozart aria, "Parto, ma ben tu mio" from La
clemenza di Tito. The second half will sing with the
instrumental melodies of Dvorak's first piano trio in B
flat.

OLD SOUTHWARK IN THE BLITZ GUIDED WALK
Sunday 7 April
Meet 11am by wooden cross in south churchyard at Southwark
Cathedral,  London Bridge; �9; booking essential

This walk led by Neil Bright looks at how this historic
borough and its citizens coped during several phases of the
Blitz. Southwark is steeped in evidence of the Blitz. Hear
of the horrors of Wardens' Post 6 and the Surrey Theatre and
see a rare relic of the Blitz - an Emergency Water Supply
sign - plus much more. The walk is supported with photos
from the Blitz and personal stories. This walk is of 2 hours
45 minutes duration and finishes at the Imperial War Museum.

HOME SWEET HOME: COMMUNITY FILM CLUB
Monday 8 April
7pm (refreshments from 6.30pm) at Starr Auditorium, Tate
Modern,  Bankside; free to members
Four years in the making, Enrica Colusso's documentary is
centred around the Heygate Estate at Elephant & Castle. It
tells a complex but intimate story of urban and social
transformation, and asks: what kind of society are we
building? The director will introduce the film. Membership
is open to those living in Southwark and Lambeth. To join,
