ELEPHANT & CASTLE LEISURE CENTRE FINAL DESIGN EXHIBITION
Monday 21 & Tuesday 22 May
Mon & Tue 3pm-8pm at Elephant & Castle Leisure Centre
See the final designs for the new Elephant & Castle Leisure
Centre due to open in 2014. The existing centre will close
permanently on Tuesday 5 June. This is the final opportunity
to comment on designs for the new centre (and adjacent
36-storey residential development) before planning
applications are submitted.

CAMERA OBSCURA WORKSHOP AT ELEPHANT & CASTLE

3pm-5pm at Hannibal House, Elephant & Castle Shopping

The workshop, organised by local artists Rebecca Davies and
Eva Sajovic in collaboration with Fotosynthesis, will take
place on the tenth floor of Hannibal House, just above the
Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre. During the workshop they
will be making one of the rooms on the tenth floor into a
giant camera. Once this is set up then the participants will
set about producing photographs which will then be developed
in the Fotosynthesis dark room.

LUDGATE HOUSE & SAMPSON HOUSE PUBLIC EXHIBITION
Tuesday 22 May
3pm-6pm at Bankside Community Space, 18 Great Guildford St
Carlyle Group, the owners of Ludgate House on Blackfriars
Road and Sampson House on Hopton Street, will present their
plans fo the redevelopment of these prime sites close to the
new Blackfriars Railway Station. Members of the project team
including representatives from Carlyle Group, the architect
(PLP) and other relevant consultants will be at the
exhibition to answer any questions you may have about the
proposed development.

walking barefoot over red-hot coals. You'll receive a full

communities in poverty get out of poverty.

about the near destruction of Surrey Docks and the aftermath

beyond in a hunt that uncovers the historic playhouses, pubs
and prostitutes that made these streets the playground of
London. Along the way you'll be faced with riddles and
puzzles aplenty. A fun adventure for the cunning, the
