Naomi is running a yoga class suitable for all levels on
Tuesday evenings from 7.40pm to 8.40pm at The Basement 
Studio, 8-18 London Bridge Street, London SE1 9SG.

Beginners are welcome so why not give Creative Hatha Yoga a
try this new year?

The class costs �10 and is run on a weekly, drop-in basis
with no need to pay membership fees or to commit to a
course. Classes  start on 11th January 2011.

NEW YEAR FIREWORKS AT THE LONDON EYE

flashing lights and noisy explosions of a fireworks display,
especially on New Year's Eve," says Boris Johnson. "With our
dazzling display we want to capture the dynamism, colour and
energy that are the hallmarks of our great city. "Some tough
decisions have had to be taken this year, but as we go into
2011, let's look forward to future growth and successes
ahead, embracing the opportunities of the coming year with

WINTER WASSAIL AT SHAKESPEARE'S GLOBE
Saturday 1 to Monday 4 January
Sat 2pm & 5pm; Sun & Mon 4pm at Shakespeare's Globe,  New
Globe Walk; �5-�30
Four special performances from the world-renowned Gabrieli
Consort & Players in an uplifting musical celebration of the
New Year. Winter Wassail alludes to the ancient custom of
coming together to drink from the wassail bowl at the turn
of the year. Gabrieli Consort & Players will present an
entertaining programme of seasonal pieces inspired by words
from Shakespeare, Hardy and Chaucer, to evoke medieval,
Elizabethan and Victorian eras. Experienced Globe actor
Peter Hamilton Dyer will join Gabrieli to perform the
selection of readings. Popular and energetic, this
family-friendly programme will be presented in two concise
half hour acts, giving plenty of room for 'wassailing' over
mulled wine and hot food in the break.

TWELFTH NIGHT FESTIVITIES ON BANKSIDE
Monday 3 January
1pm (time TBC) at Bankside Pier,  Bankside; free
An annual seasonal celebration held in the Bankside area. It
is a celebration of the New Year, mixing ancient seasonal
customs with contemporary festivity. It is free, accessible
to all and happens whatever the weather. To herald the
celebration, the extraordinary Holly Man, the Winter guise
of the Green Man from pagan myths and folklore, decked in
fantastic green garb and evergreen foliage, appears from the
River Thames brought by the Thames Cutter, Master Shipbroker
(boat subject to weather!).
