JOIN ME ON THE BRIDGE: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Monday 8 March
12pm at Millennium Bridge,  Bankside; free
On International Women's Day thousands of women (and men)
worldwide will gather on bridges from San Francisco to Congo
to call for an end to war and to demonstrate that women can
build the bridges of peace and hope. Join Women for Women
International at Victoria Embankment Gardens at 10am. From
there you can walk to the Millennium Bridge to stand in
solidarity with women all over the world and gather for a
photo at 12 noon. There will be a women's festival along the
Embankment.

ARTS MARKET AT ELEPHANT & CASTLE
Monday 8 to Thursday 11 March
11am-6pm (Thu till 9pm) at London College of Communication,
Elephant & Castle
Students sell their arts and crafts. The Students' Union at
the University of the Arts London invites the university
community and public to come and shop. It is a great
opportunity to grab a unique present or treat for yourself
and for students to raise a bit of money. Last year all
sorts of things were for sale, from jewellery and
hand-knitted garments to letterpress posters.

COMMUNITY FILM CLUB AT TATE MODERN: ROUTEMASTER BUS

Captain, entertainer, Samaritan and guide, a bus conductor
also sees things that the rest of us don't. Made in
association with the London Transport Museum, this Arena
film tells the stories of five conductors from five decades
of London's history. Plus screening of four short films made
by members of the Community Film Club. Membership of the
Community Film Club is aimed at those living in Southwark

Children. There will be something for everyone at this
event, from painting and photography to illustration and
street art. The line-up includes a mix up of prominent and
inspirational young talent with fresh design graduates.
There will be an auction on all artwork shown and a chance
to witness the artists create a joint mosaic live. Plus,
experience live visual audio performance and special guest
DJ sets. There will be stalls selling accessories, small
artworks, hand crafted Ugandan cards and kitsch cakes. The
event is to raise money for an intervention centre for
street children in Kampala, Uganda.
