LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS: COMMUNITY FILM CLUB
Monday 14 December

Guy Ritchie's 1998 comedy thriller. Look out for scenes
filmed in Park Street, Borough Market. Membership of the
Community Film Club is aimed at those living in Southwark

MAYOR OF LONDON'S CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE
Tuesday 15 December
7pm at Southwark Cathedral,  London Bridge; free
The theme of the event will be 'Service to Londoners', in
recognition of the work of the police, the fire service,
ambulance and nursing staff, as well as the armed forces -
all of whom will be represented at the service. Tickets are
still available - people wishing to attend should email

CATHEDRAL SING-IN: LUNCHTIME CAROLS
Wednesday 16 December
12.45pm at Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge
In the final run up to Christmas local residents and workers
fill the Cathedral to sing a wide selection of carols and
hear the traditional readings as well as carols by the
Thursday Singers all accompanied by a brass band. This is a
relaxed and fun way to really prepare for Christmas.

AN EVENING OF CHEESE AT BOROUGH MARKET

First of the two popular Southwark Carol Services with
carols sung by the boys, girls and men of the Cathedral
Choir in candlelight. This year the readings are taken from
St Matthew's account of the birth of Jesus and will be
interspersed with congregational and choir carols. The
service is repeated on Tuesday.
