2pm-3.30pm; 6.50 (booking essential 020 7001 9844)
When Richard Reynolds began planting flowers secretly at
night outside Perronet House at the Elephant he had no idea
he was part of a growing global movement committed to
combatting the forces of neglect, land shortage and apathy
towards public spaces. But his blog attracted activists from
around the world to share their experiences and rallied
people to join in. He researched like-minded radicals from
17th century England and met the artists in New York who
gave the Guerrilla Gardening movement its name, along with
lots of 'ordinary' people with a secret. Guided by Richard,
unearth flourishing urban London patches cultivated by
guerrilla gardeners in London, walking south from
Blackfriars Road. Discover the techniques of seed-bombers,
the art of effective propaganda, how to love litter, what to
grow in perilous circumstances and how to change your
community. A Museum of London event.
