A film made by young people from SE1 United exploring the
area in and around Waterloo. 2008. Approx 90 mins.Plus a
short performance by 'Jabbamouth' a new poetry collective
for young people between the ages of 15 - 19 formed by In
Toto Theatre for young people from North Lambeth and
Southwark. Membership of the Community Film Club is
primarily aimed at those living and working in Southwark and

SHAD THAMES RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION OPEN MEETING
Monday 6 April
7.30pm-9.30pm at The Bridge House, 218 Tower Bridge Road
Open meeting of the residents' group for the area bounded by
Tower Bridge Road, Tooley Street (north side), Shad Thames
and the River Thames. Chair Julian Griffiths will introduce

report on the latest situation on the Berkeley Homes

Independent Dance presents a series of public lunchtime
talks and walks inviting an awareness of, and a response to
the wildness and elemental in the city. This 'urban safari'
sets out to explore the area around the Elephant, to reveal
its hidden wildness and to understand how a surprising
variety of plants and animals can survive in such a
seemingly hostile environment.

THE LAND WE STAND ON: GEOLOGICAL WALK AROUND ELEPHANT AREA

An exploration of the hidden rocks that the Elephant and
Castle area is built on and of, giving us a both a micro and
macro viewpoint. The walk will reveal the history of the
kerbstone or found fossil and of the land we stand on, thus
extending our notions of time and place, and awakening our
awareness of the shaping of the urban landscape, the variety
of rocks around us and how they got there.

ENGLISH FOLK DANCE AND SONG SOCIETY FILM NIGHT

The English Folk Dance and Song Society presents a selection
of short films from their archive including 'Oss Oss Wee
Oss', a record of the May Day 'Obby 'Ose celebration at
Padstow in 1953 and 1960s singing and dancing in the Barley
Mow pub in Suffolk. Come and see some raw film recordings of
British folk life from the not-so distant past.

Slow Food London presents a four-day event celebrating the
best in Easter food. Includes tastings, demonstrations and

GOOD FRIDAY PROCESSION OF WITNESS
Friday 10 April
11am at Crossway United Reformed Church, 100 New Kent Road
The annual Procession of Witness on Good Friday includes
people from many of the churches in North Southwark:
Anglican, Roman Catholic, URC, New Testament Church of God
and Salvation Army. It is an ecumenical act of public
witness on this day of special significance to Christians
and you are warmly invited to take part. This year the walk
begins at Crossway URC on the New Kent Road at the Elephant
and Castle and ends with a short service at St Alphege in
King's Bench Street. The walk begins at 11am, stopping at a
number of places along the way for readings from the account
of the Passion and concludes at 12 noon.

CHRIST IN THE PASSOVER - SEDER MEAL AT HADDON HALL CHURCH

8pm Haddon Hall Baptist Church, 22 Tower Bridge Road; free
Jews for Jesus will walk us through a Jewish Passover Seder,
(the traditional Passover meal) weaving the story of the
Exodus together with the life, death and resurrection of
Christ. The words Jesus spoke in the upper room come alive
as each Hebraic item is carefully explained. An unmissable
