LIFE'S A BEACH: SOUTH BANK FORESHORE EVENT
Monday 28 July
3pm-6pm at Festival Beach, Festival Riverside; free
Join conservation experts from Thames 21 on Festival Beach
below the Royal Festival Hall as they cast fishing nets into
the Thames and demonstrate the diverse wildlife of the
river. Take part in art and craft, and sculpture workshops

12 noon-6pm at Archbishop's Park,  Carlisle Lane; free
The Youth Forum SE1 United is holding its annual Sports Day
which will be attended by more than 800 young people from
youth clubs, schools, and youth forums from Lambeth and
Southwark. There will be a football tournament, African mask
making, tennis taster sessions, facepainting, a climbing
wall, two large inflatables, basketball workshops, a West
Indian BBQ, T-shirt making and community stalls.

THE HISTORY OF STREET ART

As the Tate's Street Art show draws to an end, street art
legend Blek Le Rat tells the story of street art and talks
about how New York graffiti inspired him. One of the first
artists to have an impact on the European scene, he
pioneered the stencil style which has influenced many,
notably Banksy. Plus street artist Rough gives an insight
into the underground world of graffiti in the UK.
