ROYAL AIR FORCE 90TH ANNIVERSARY FLYPAST
Tuesday 1 April
1pm above the London Eye
The Royal Air Force Red Arrows will fly in formation with
four Typhoon aircraft along the River Thames to the London
Eye on the RAF's 90th birthday giving London the chance to
see a spectacular flypast. The formation approach from the
east over Tower Bridge and passing just south of Tate Modern
to fly over the London Eye at 1 o'clock sharp.

A TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF MARTIN LUTHER KING
Tuesday 1 April
1pm, Clore Ballroom, Royal Festival Hall, Belvedere Rd; free
Londoners celebrate the life of one of the 20th century's
greatest figures. The civil rights leader's son Martin
Luther King III speaks as guest of honour, with guest
appearances from some well-known music stars.

WATERLOO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP GENERAL MEETING
Wednesday 2 April
7pm at Waterloo Action Centre, 14 Baylis Road
Regular public meeting of the group that monitors
development in the Waterloo area. Hear developers present
their plans and contribute to the debate. Find out about
plans for a 15 storey office building at the junction of
Lambeth Palace Road and Westminster Bridge Road. And get the
lowdown on plans to improve the environment around the
southern end of Hungerford Bridge.

KEEP SMILING THROUGH - ILLUSTRATED TALK AT CUMING MUSIC
Thursday 3 April
10.30am at Cuming Museum, 151 Walworth Road; free
Stephen Bourne gives an illustrated talk, which looks at
wartime experiences of black Londoners on the home front.
Learn about the lives of ordinary families as well as the
experiences of personalities such as Dr. Harold Moody,
Adelaide Hall and Ken 'Snakehips' Johnson. There will be
time to discuss your own home front memories at the end of
the event. Please bring any related photographs or small
objects with you. Part of Southwark's Silver Festival for
older people.

SAY AND PLAY FUN DAY FOR WATERLOO FAMILIES
Thursday 3 April
3.30pm-6pm  at Johanna Primary School, Johanna Street, Lower
Marsh
Games, an assortment of stalls and a fashion show are among
the enjoyable activities planned for this open
afternoon/fun-day. The aim of the day is twofold, to both
showcase the children's work and to bring the local
community together and enable them to have their say about
local community services. So while the children are perhaps
looking around the stalls, their parents and carers will
have the opportunity to put across their views, which will
be fed back to Lambeth Council.

RUSH HOUR CONCERT - FREE AFTER-WORK CLASSICAL MUSIC

The place to be seen for mature clubbers! This year's Silver
Sounds extravaganza promises to be another memorable event.

BEIJING OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY
Sunday 6 April
2pm at Royal Festival Hall; 3pm at Potters Fields Park
The torch will arrive in SE1 at Festival Pier on board a
police boat from Westminster Pier between 1.30pm and 2pm.
Returning north via Waterloo Bridge it visits Southwark at
Potters Fields Park at approx 3pm with more music and
entertainment.
