TALK: EARLY CINEMA IN SOUTH LONDON - ALLEN EYLES
Tuesday 8 May
6pm-7.30pm  at Waterloo Library, 114-118 Lower Marsh; free
Film historian and author Allen Eyles has been central to
putting together the Moving Pictures exhibition that will be
touring Lambeth. He will be talking about the development of
London as a great cinema capital and unveiling some of the
hidden gems of South London history. Lambeth Readers and
Writers Festival event in association with London Screen.

COMEDY ROCKET: NEW WATERLOO COMEDY CLUB STARTS TODAY

A new weekly comedy club in Waterloo featuring the best up
and coming talent on the circuit. It's the brainchild of
Andrew Wallace (BBC7's Wonderworld), who by day is
facilities manager at the London Eye and by night is a
stand-up comic.

NEW WEDNESDAY MARKET DAY IN LOWER MARSH
Wednesday 9 May
On Wednesdays Lower Marsh Market is now bigger and better.
The Monday-Saturday traders are joined by new stalls
offering everything from fresh fruit and veg, cut flowers,
clothes and household goods to exotic coffee, churros, DVDs
and sporting equipment.

CLIMATE CHANGE WALK: TOWER BRIDGE TO WATERLOO

bank and see examples of people tackling climate change in

DEAD FAIRY FOUND IN DERBYSHIRE! - DAN BAINES

THE HEARD: LOCAL CHOIR PLAYS UNIVERSITY OF LONDON UNION
Saturday 12 May
7pm at ULU, Malet Street WC1; �5 on the door or �4.50 in

Bermondsey-based singer Becky Jones set up a community choir
called The Heard based at the Leather Exchange pub in
Leathermarket Street to sing her original music and choral
covers of hits from the likes of Radiohead, Massive Attack,
Lamb and Bjork. The choir is 50-strong and consists mainly
of people living and working in the SE1 area who love to
sing. The Heard has a big showcase at the 600-capacity
University of London Union (ULU) in Malet Street. They will
be accompanied by string septet, 'Fuze' along with comedy
from 'The Laughter Unit'

WALK THE WORLD: 5km WALK IN SUPPORT OF FIGHT HUNGER
Sunday 13 May
11am-4pm at The Scoop,  More London Riverside
5km walk starting at The Scoop with music and entertainment
in the amphitheatre. The Fight Hunger initiative of the
United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is a collaboration
with non-governmental organizations, national and
international institutions, the private sector and other
segments of society to educate the public and raise funds in
support of the goal of ending child hunger by 2015.
