PATERSON PARK CELEBRATIONS
Friday 30 March
1.30pm-5pm  at Paterson Park, off Lynton Road
Paterson Park first opened in 1953. Much reduced in size by
the construction of the City of London Academy, come along
to this event to celebrate the completion of works to
improve the remaining green space. The Eveline Lowe Primary
School Brass Band will play in advance of the ribbon cutting
at 2pm by the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Paul Kyriacou. The
afternoon's entertainment includes a Tea Dance, balloon
modelling, face painting and a bouncy castle, and
after-schools sports sessions on the new multicourt.

CHILDREN'S ART WORKSHOP AT OXO TOWER WHARF

11am-4pm  at The Bargehouse, Barge House Street; free
Artists Samantha Bush and Susannah Hubert are running free
children's drawing competition/workshop.
Children are encouraged to select a piece of work in the
show they find inspirational then reproduce it in their own
style. The entries will be displayed and the winning entry
(judged by the two artists) receives a limited edition
t-shirt designed and produced by Susannah Hubert using
images from her portfolio.

ST GEORGE THE MARTYR CONGREGATION RETURNS 'HOME': SPECIAL
PALM SUNDAY PROCESSION IN BOROUGH HIGH STREET
Palm Sunday 1 April
10.30am at Guy's Chapel, St Thomas' Street
The Bishop of Woolwich, the Rt Revd Christopher Chessun -
who worked in a Borough High Street solicitors' office 30
years ago - is joining the Palm Sunday Procession of the
congregation of St George the Martyr from their temporary
place of worship at the Guy's Chapel to their restored
church. The Procession will leave Guy's Chapel at 10.30am
and process via St Thomas Street and Borough High Street to
the recently restored church of St George the Martyr where
Bishop Christopher will celebrate Parish Eucharist at 11am.
Members of the local community, who have so generously
supported the Restoration Fund, are invited join in the
Procession or just watch it pass by.

PALM PROCESSION FROM BOROUGH MARKET TO SOUTHWARK CATHEDRAL
Palm Sunday 1 April
10.45am at Borough Market
Holy Week starts with a gathering in Borough Market for the
reading of the Gospel before the procession to the Cathedral
for the Choral Eucharist. The Crofton Brass Quintet leads
music and singing from 10.30am.
