MORLEY COLLEGE CHOIR CONCERT AT ST JOHN'S WATERLOO
Wednesday 10 December
8pm at St John's Waterloo, Waterloo Road; �5 
Morley College Choir conducted by  Gregory Platt.
Programme includes John  Rutter's Gloria, The motet - 
In Ecclesiis - Gabrieli and several popular choruses
from Handel's Messiah.

ROSE THEATRE OPEN DAY
Thursday 11 & Sunday 14 December
11am-5pm at 56 Park Street; admission by donation
In connection with the ongoing frost fair at
Shakespeare's Globe, the Rose Theatre trust is stagin a
series of open days at its site in Park Street. Come
along and experience what has captured the imagination
of some of this country's most famous artists 
and feel a part of history.

'LIGHTS UP' AT THE ELEPHANT AND CASTLE
Friday 12 December
5pm-7pm at the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre
See the Elephant and Castle's lighting scheme being
switched on for the first time by council leader Nick
Stanton. The event will be projected onto a big screen
at the shopping centre. Also featuring: Latin American
Quarter, live music, Christmas carols, Father
Christmas, street performers, giveaways, late night
opening, food and drink, �1 bowling special and special
Bingo sessions.

NATIONAL THEATRE 'BRIGHTENING UP LONDON' SWITCH ON
Friday 12 December
Time unknown; South Bank
Damien Hirst switches on a projection onto the walls of
the National - part of a London-wide campaign backed by
Bob Geldof, Orange and the Evening Standard. On
Christmas Eve, all nine buildings - including the
Imperial War Museum - will be made to appear as if they
are wrapped like enormous Christmas presents.

5pm at St John's Waterloo Road; free (retiring
collection)
Chorus Mundi choir is joined by  Lungandan Choir and St
John's Youth  Choir. Includes a first performance of
Paul Ayres' setting of Shakespeare's words "So Hallow'd
& so gracious is the Time" plus favourite carols for
all to sing. Attended by the Mayor of Lambeth, Kate
Hoey MP and the Pearly Kings and Queens of London.
Mulled wine and mince pies afterwards. The retiring
collection is in aid of Sargent Cancer Care for
Children, and The Mayor of Lambeth's Charities.
