anyone in the WBCF area keen to be involved with the
Festival, to be held on Saturday 30 August in and
around Tabard Park, Leathermarket Gardens, Bermondsey

truly local festival, a celebration of our diverse
community. The WBCF area includes Borough High Street,
Newcomen Street, Snowfields, Crucifix Lane, Druid
Street, Tower Bridge Road, New Kent Road and Harper
Road. Bring your ideas and suggestions for what you'd
like to see at the festival. WBCF would also like to
hear from people who would like a stall as well as
performers, musicians, artists, crafts people, local

helpers on the day and people who can help publicise
the event are also needed.

GUY STREET PARK - THE LIGHTBOX PROJECT: SHOW 2
Friday 25 July
6-9pm at Guy Street Park, Guy Street
A new contemporary art venue has been created from a
multi-storey car park, in London Bridge. Five
illuminated billboards have been installed in
Snowsfield car park, overlooking Guy Street Park. The
billboards display commissioned artworks made by
artists working with different section of the local
community. The second show is Marq Keareys young
persons summer project. Marq's work looks at how the
urban environment intentionally and unintentionally
subverts street signage's messages. Marq explored
these ideas with over 35 young people in workshops at
REPA (Rockingham Estate Play Association). They combed
the streets and collected graphic images to make
collages by cutting, tearing and pasting. Marq then
used these collages to create the artworks that can be
seen displayed within the light boxes.
Summer show continues until 28 November: open 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week.
