[ Southwark's Final Festival Week ]

Southwark's two major festivals come to an end this
week. 

Literature Festival highlights this week include 'Queen
Elizabeth I & The River' with Dr David Starkey
(Tuesday), 'Southwark: A Dramatic Entertainment'
devised by Christopher Sinclair-Stevenson (Thursday)
and the Southwark Literature Lecture to be delivered by
Poet Laureate Andrew Motion (Friday).

The Southwark Festival Visual Arts programme continues
until Friday, including an exhibition of works by
Gerald Scarfe at Cotton's Atrium.

John Constable of Southwark Mysteries fame has send us
the following information about an "alternative
Halloween party" at the Drome, under London Bridge
station

HALLOWEEN OF CROSSBONES
a ritual drama to honour the dead

Tuesday 31 October at 8pm
The Drome: Deep Blue entrance
Weston Street, under the railway arches, London Bridge
Tickets �5 - doors open 7.30pm

Ceremony begins at 8pm

JOHN CROW AND THE LIBERTY CREW featuring Niall
McDevitt, Michelle Watson

Shamanic raps and rituals to honour the spirits of
prostitutes whose bones were unearthed in Southwark
during work on the Jubilee Line Extension

Procession with candles and offerings to the site of
the Crossbones Graveyard

Revels continue until 2am
